Haiku Poetry

Panther and the ant

Gentle strength meets swift purpose

Sex cuddles ensue

The moist month of May

Inadvertently verdant

Ample shades of green

Sensing bold sweet scents

Baby beast meets promised land

And skies high expand

Gold threads that connect

A perfect embroidery

Quaint quilt of love

I slip on wet rocks

With your safe grass between stones

My heart's labyrinth

Today the wind jammed

With leaves, birds, and katydids

Nature's orchestra

Cloaked in bright azure

Our golden friend throws warm rays

That makes the wheat bow

I lean in to loss

Like tall trees and the giraffes

That stretch for tasty

As encroaching winds

Strip my bark, pummel my leaves

I still stretch skyward

Green green summer lush

The woodsy retina hit

Fine-tunes the birdsong

Does my haiku speak

If no one reads or hears it

Like that fallen tree?

Silent moods pretend

Life's breezy and safe just like

A Netherlands cow

That cloud that swells joy

Flows with shapes in a straight line

To the soul of my canvas

When that rabbit dashed

I thought I saw a quick sloth

In her twitchy grin

Trail bench is gone - ha!

Fallen tree suits me better

Laughing with the wind

Haiku, I see you

And like an owl on the hunt

Haiku, you see me

Turkeys drinking wine

And eating pies and stuffing

Do poultry feel foul?

Full with pies and cakes

Happy still parched lips search on

Love is ferocious

Words tumble eyes wide

Like chimps banter branch to branch

Our truths leap with faith

White or black sheepish

Munch on earth's gurgling tummy

Eruptions surprise

Shy little hidden

People on snow dust lava

Mingle with tourists

Midnight swirls yell Thor

As other gods awaken

For Arctic dreamscapes

Two straight dimensions

Splash! Ducks play in the hot sun

It's brushwork magic

You tune to nature

Like when you spotted that duck

And said it was lost

Twigs, dirt, ruffled leaves

Crunch sweet earthy potpourri

Oops, careful! Turtle!

I think of our walk

Trees, black stream, and winter birds

“That song’s a bluebird!”

Sun soaked blobs glisten

Motionless on the slick log

Do turtles chit chat?

Hearty like the sun

Dancing rays and sparkling bright

Alive with laughter!
